Our Milestones

Hess Aerospace and Defense was built on a strong foundation of continuous innovation that have helped bring it to the forefront of the aerospace and military industry as a superior precision machining manufacturer.

This family run business has adopted a “Continuous Improvement” mindset and has obtained all the necessary certifications needed to be a leader in this industry.

1960 – The business was established in Ville Lasalle, Quebec and was originally named “Lasalle instrument parts”.

1962 – The company is formally incorporated.

1962 – Hess’s first major customer was Canadian Marconi Company, making parts for DEW line, they are still a valued and loyal client after all this time.

1980 – Hess Aerospace moves to their current location in Hemminford, Quebec.

1985 – Jonathan Hess and Virginia Hess began working for the Family Business.

1996 – Hess Aerospace buys their first CNC machine.

1999 – Virginia and Jonathan take over the day to day operations of Hess Aerospace.

2016 – The business changes names from “Lasalle instrument parts”’ to “Hess Aerospace and Defense” to better reflect the company’s focus and future direction.
